Cellar Guide Find a restaurant

Correction Requests

Cellar Guide exists because we believe the best food and beverage discoveries come from people who genuinely care about quality and have the experience to know it when they find it. Our recommendations are built on hands-on tasting, repeated visits, and real relationships with the people behind each establishment. But restaurants change, menus evolve, and sometimes we get details wrong. That is where you come in.

When we feature a restaurant or food purveyor on Cellar Guide, we are staking our reputation on it. We stand behind what we publish because we have tasted it, we know the owners, and we believe it is worth your time. But we are not perfect. Hours shift, chefs move, suppliers change, and the character of a place can evolve in ways we might not catch on a single visit.

A restaurant's integrity is built on quality today and honesty about change tomorrow.

That is why we have built this page. We want to hear from you when something does not match what we have described. Did the ingredient sourcing change? Has the owner shifted focus? Did we mischaracterize the dining style or the price point? Was the service inconsistent with what we promised? Tell us, and we will check it out ourselves. A correction from a reader who actually went shows we are paying attention, and it keeps our recommendations honest.

What we accept corrections about

We welcome corrections on specifics: a restaurant's sourcing practices, the quality of their ingredients, the authenticity of their preparation methods, or changes to their focus and philosophy. If a menu item we highlighted is no longer offered, or if the sourcing we praised has shifted, we need to know. If they have brought in a new chef or changed their approach to how they work with suppliers, that matters to us. We also want to hear if a purveyor's hours have changed, if their commitment to quality has wavered, or if the experience we described no longer matches reality.

Common sticking points

How do I send a correction?

If you spot something that does not match our description, reach out through the contact information on our featured restaurants page. Give us specifics: what you observed, when you visited, and what changed from what we described. We read every message and follow up on corrections ourselves.

Will my correction be made public?

No. Corrections are between you and us. We review every one, visit the restaurant ourselves to verify, and update our write-up if warranted. We do not publish a public correction log. We just fix what we got wrong and move on.

What if I disagree with your recommendation?

That is different from a correction. We are writing from our own perspective and experience. But if you have spotted a genuine change—a shift in quality, sourcing, or philosophy—that is information we need. Disagreement about taste is fair; dishonesty about what is on the plate is not.

Why corrections strengthen community

When you send us a correction, you are helping us serve the entire community better. A reader who took the time to give us accurate information is showing the kind of care we try to bring to every recommendation. Corrections let us catch shifts that happened after our last visit, spot changes in direction we might have missed, and stay honest about what a place actually is today. The best recommendations come from people who pay attention and are willing to say when something changed. We build Cellar Guide on that kind of attention.

We built Cellar Guide on trust. That means being honest about what we have found, being open about our own taste and perspective, and being quick to correct ourselves when we are wrong. Your corrections help us do that. Send them thoughtfully, with specifics. We will follow up and fix what needs fixing. That is how we keep our recommendations worth following.
